It turns on and off with the car and when in the "ON" position that may be like what you looking to do with the dash cam. If you want it on all the time and set to record with a bump (G-Force) you will have to find fuse circuit live all the time. The one I was mentioning at clock is on when lights are off, so not ideal for what you need. You know what I already have cut that out and just left the cable taped shut back there, but never thought to use it.
